Q.
I subscribe to basic cable and am interested in a high speed
internet connection - what do I have to do?
A. To get the best pricing you may want to consider subscribing
to our standard tier, along with your basic cable.
Q.
I recently purchased a new computer with a 56K
modem, cable or DSL ready.
A. To connect a cable modem will require either an Ethernet
Network Interface Card or USB connection.
Q. What
would I need to do to get connected to your system?
A. Be sure your computer meets the following minimum hardware and
software requirements. A Pentium class computer running Windows
95 or higher with an Ethernet NIC (network interface card) or USB
port or a Macintosh computer running OS 8.2 or higher and an Ethernet
network interface card using Open Transport. An Internet browser
such as Netscape 4.6 or higher or IE 5.0 or higher.
Q.
Do you think I would just need to have the cable
installed to my home near the computer and "plug" it in
myself?
A. Yes, we recommend that a cable connection be located on the same
wall or an adjacent wall to the location of the computer. For safety
reasons, wiring of any kind should not be installed across any walkpath
or doorway.
Q.
I also have a TV chip in the computer. Could I watch CableTV
through the computer as well?
A. Some computers have TV / PC interface cards in them. If your
computer has one of these interface cards installed, you should
be able to connect a cable line to the interface card and using
the computer software, supplied by the interface computer manufacturer
and view television programming on your computer monitor. A separate
connection is required (could be via a two way splitter) to provide
signal to the cable modem. Splitting the incoming cable signal too
many times can cause problems with reliability of the cable modem
signal. This may require installation of an in-line amplifier that
passes the return path signals necessary for the cable modem to
work properly. (If this is required, a cable technician visit is
recommended.)

filter on your computer. There are several available and some are
even free. We cannot recommend any specific software, but a search
engine may be able to give you some good suggestions by typing in
"email filter" or "email filters". To learn
